Today at 3 p.m. ET, the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders face-off for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Round 1 Stanley Cup playoff series live from the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.

Washington looks to win a road game to advance to the next round and face the New York Rangers while New York hopes to keep the series going by forcing a Game 7 back in the nation's capital.

The Islanders took a 1-0 series lead in Washington, then the Capitals drew it even. When the series shifted to New York, the Isles took Game 3 in overtime and the Capitals promptly took Game 4 in an extra frame. Washington then notched the most lopsided win of the series in Game 5 at home, a 5-1 triumph.

This could very well mark the final game played at the Nassau Coliseum as the Islanders prepare for a move to Brooklyn next season, but right now the focus is on winning a game regardless of the venue.

"Our backs are against the wall, but we aren't going to change anything now," coach Jack Capuano said per NHL.com. "We've had a good year. For me it's just trying to orchestrate a good lineup that will give us a chance to win here. We have a chance tomorrow in our building to take it to a Game 7. Our backs were against the wall a lot this season and we responded well and I think we will do the same [Saturday]."

Capitals coach Barry Trotz wants the team to take care of business this afternoon.

"We have to win a series [Saturday]. There is no bonus," he told NHL.com. "Winning the series is the bonus."

Nicklas Backstrom has paced Washington with six points while Alex Ovechkin has broken through a couple times, scoring two tallies and adding a helper for three points.

Josh Bailey leads New York with five points while captain John Tavares has four.

In net, the Islanders turn to Jaroslav Halak, who has allowed 13 goals on 150 shots this season.

The Capitals counter with Braden Holtby, who has yielded seven tallies on 128 attempts.

The Capitals look to end the series while the Islanders hope to force a Game 7 when the puck drops this afternoon at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island for Game 6.
