Bruce Jenner was once the most athletic man on the planet. He took gold in the decathlon - widely regarded as the most difficult Olympic event - in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Nowadays, he is still a household name thanks to his reality show.

Earlier this year, Jenner shocked and stunned many when he declared that he would undergo a gender transition and become a woman. He announced that he would sit down with Diane Sawyer for a special, two-hour episode of 20/20, and his interview did not disappoint, according to ABC News.

"For all intents and purposes, I'm a woman," said the 65-year old Jenner. "People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life -- it is part of me. That female side is part of me. That's who I am."

"I look at it this way-Bruce always telling a lie. He's lived a lie his whole life about who he is. And I can't do that any longer," Jenner said.

"My brain is much more female than it is male," he added. "It's hard for people to understand that, but that's what my soul is."

Jenner used both male and female pronouns to refer to himself throughout the special. He will be undergoing several surgeries, but he expects the transition process to be completed later this year.
