Tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET the Golden State Warriors will head to New Orleans and attempt to put the Pelicans in a 3-0 series stranglehold in their first round Western Conference Playoffs series. Pelicans center Anthony Davis is a legitimate MVP candidate, and he does not feel like bowing to the Warriors and their league-best record. We know that we can beat this team. We were right there," Davis said.

Davis is averaging 30.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in his first two career playoff appearances, both losses. While Davis is a force on both ends of the floor, the Pelicans have been tortured on the perimeter by Golden State's "Splash Bros.," Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The pair is averaging 51 points and 8.5 assists, while Thompson is nailing 43 percent of his 3-pointers on seven attempts.

"The grind-it-out kind of feel that these games were (in Oakland), you expect it's gonna be the exact same thing if not tougher in New Orleans," Curry said of the better-than-usual No. 8 seed. "I'm sure they'll get some life being at home and feeling their home crowd. ... We know it's not gonna be easy regardless of how well we play."

For the Pelicans to get back in the series they will need more from point guard Jrue Holiday, who missed a lot of time this season because of injury, and more points from combo guard Tyreke Evans, averaging just 8.5 points through the first two tilts.
