It's all there to play for at the Stadion Petrovski on Thursday. The Europa League quarterfinal between Zenit St. Petersburg and Sevilla scheduled for 3:05 p.m. ET can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on ESPN Deportes.
The Stage
Zenit were just 17 minutes from doing the impossible in the first leg: Beating Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. The Spanish side has failed to lose a single contest at home since 2014. The 2-1 comeback victory awards an experienced Sevilla side a bit of breathing room in St. Petersburg.
Manager Unai Emery, however, remains cautiously optimistic, aware of the task at hand.
"In the first half of the first leg Zenit were like a fortress," Emery said (via UEFA). "They played well defensively. I am really pleased we got back in the game in the second half. This is another match. There will be other players involved, Zenit need to score a goal, we also need to act differently and be ready for anything."
"We're ready for the fans to put us under pressure," he added. "We know how to overcome this, it spurs us on."
The In-Form Player
Soccer is a team game, but the individual efforts of Hulk will be key on Thursday. In 23 league appearances with Zenit, the 28-year-old has 12 goals and six assists. More of the same will be needed if the hosts look to overturn their deficit.
Projected Lineups
Zenit's Projected Lineup (4-2-3-1): Lodygin; Smolnikov; Anyukov, Neto, Lombaerts, Criscito; Shatov, Javi Garcia, Witsel, Danny; Hulk
Sevilla's Projected Lineup (4-2-3-1): Sergio Rico; Coke, Pareja, Carriço, Trémoulinas; Krychowiak, Iborra, Vidal, Banega, Vitolo; Bacca
