Batista has turned into a mega movie star, but he's still open to a WWE return despite the fact that he's not a fan of the current writing and creative direction of the company.

"The Animal," whose star is rising in Hollywood, spoke to HeyUGuys on the red carpet of the London premiere for The Avengers 2 and said he would be open to a WWE return similar to Chris Jericho's recent stint where he only worked house shows.

"I get constantly asked if I am going to go back and I would," Batista told the affiliate. "I love wrestling. I talked to Chris Jericho, who is a good friend of mine recently, and he does a lot of untelevised events, that's all he does and I think I may take that path if I go back. The television...you're just too locked in, you're too locked into the scripts, which I don't think are great these days...and I don't want to be locked in. I just want to go back and entertain the fans, so I may try and go that path."

5 Best Matches In Extreme Rules History

Batista returned to the WWE for the first time in four years last January and there were big plans in place for him, starting at the Royal Rumble where he won the 30-man elimination match.

"The Animal" was supposed to be catapulted by that victory into the WrestleMania main event with his former Evolution stablemate Randy Orton and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but things changed.

Due to Batista not getting as over with the crowd as expected mixed with a groundswell of support for Daniel Bryan, "The Beard" was thrown into the match after defeating Triple H in the opening bout of WrestleMania XXX.

Bryan then escaped the Mercedes-Benz Superdome with the gold after making Batista tap out to the Yes Lock to end the contest.

From there, Batista and Orton became partners again and joined Triple H to reprise the Evolution stable, immediately feuding with The Shield.

The two factions had a series of great matches at Extreme Rules and Payback last year with Batista absorbing the pinfall loss at the first event and Triple H at the second.

Batista then went on hiatus from the company in June to promote Guardians of the Galaxy, and he was written off of television on June 2 by quitting the company.

It was only supposed to be a two-month absence for Batista, but the success of Guardians has led to several other projects for him, causing him to miss time from the squared circle.

Batista, however, appears to be open to a return to the ring on a part-time basis at house shows.

Batista, 46, is a six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
