Pennsylvania Teen Temar Boggs Jumps On Bike, Rescues 5-Year-old Girl Kidnapped [VIDEO]

A 15-year-old Pennsylvania boy is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a 5-year-old neighborhood girl who had just been kidnapped.

Temar Boggs said he had just helped move a sofa and was hanging out with a friend near the Lancaster Arms apartments when police and concerned neighbors showed him a picture of the girl they were searching for.

According to the Lancaster Times, Boggs and his friends told police they had not seen the girl, but went inside to watch events unfold on the local news. After learning the girl had been taken shortly after noon on the 100 block of Jennings Drive, Boggs and about six of his friends hopped on bikes and decided to form their own search party.

Not long after, Boggs spotted a maroon vehicle that seemed to be trying to avoid police already flooding the neighborhood. The driver, whom he described as an elderly white man, then began turning onto and out of side streets connecting to nearby Gable Park Road.

Boggs told The Times that as he made his way closer to the vehicle, the driver spotted him and pushed the girl out of the car and sped away.

"I had the gut feeling that I was going to find the little girl," Boggs told the newspaper. “She runs to my arms and said, ‘I need to see my mommy.’”

Boggs and friend Chris Garcia then carried her back to where they had seen all the officers and other people searching for her. "She didn't want to leave me because she thought they were going to do something to her. I said, 'No, it's OK,'" he said.

Police said later that the abductor took the little girl for ice cream, and that there were indications of an assault. Boggs met the girl's family for the first time Thursday evening.

They "were just saying that I was a hero, that I was a guardian angel and that it was amazing that I was there and was able to find the girl," he told The Times.

Tamika Boggs was especially proud of her son. "You just hope you raise your child the right way. ... He's learning what I tell him, to help others," she told the newspaper.
