Monty Grow, Ex-NFL Player, Charged With Leaving Infant Girl In Car Outside Of A Strip Club

Ex-NFL player Monty Ray Grow has been charged with leaving a three-year-old girl alone in his car while he partied at a strip club.

According to The Tampa Bay Times, the 41-year-old Grow was taken into custody Sunday night at the Diamond Dolls club near Clearwater.  While police did not say how Grow was connected to the child, they indicated her mother tracked his vehicle there using GPS and her and the child’s grandparents both rushed there to get her.

Grow, who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs, admitted to Pinellas County police that he left the child alone, but claimed he had only gone inside momentarily to collect money he had lent a club employee.

Authorities say the mother tracked Grow at the club around 9:09 p.m. and they were called to the scene at around 9:48, roughly five-minutes after her grandparents had also arrived.

The 6-3, 214 pound safety, who attended the University of Florida, played in 19 games over the course of his two NFL seasons and recorded two interceptions, returning one of them 21 yards in 1994 as a member of the Chiefs.

Records show he was released from custody early Monday after posting a $5,000 bail.
