Far From Over

Make no mistake, a 3-1 deficit is not insurmountable for Bayern Munich. It's not outside the realm of possibility that the hosts wallop Porto 4-0 en route to a semifinal berth. Even manager Pep Guardiola is confident in his team's ability.

"Tomorrow [Tuesday], we have to take more risks," Guardiola said (via UEFA). "That is normal after the game in Porto. I am optimistic and realistic. After a 3-1 loss in Porto, it will not be easy at all, but I am optimistic we will go through to the semifinals."

FC Porto manager Julen Lopetegui shared the same optimism and isn't concerned with Guardiola's tactics, nor his approach to Tuesday's contest.

"Of course we'll have to make some changes, but the way we approach the game will remain the same," Lopetegui said. "We are a team without any big surprises and quite predictable. When we have the ball, we want to attack. When we don't have the ball, we want to get it back."

"I don't waste energy and time thinking about what will Bayern do. We need to focus on ourselves."

The In-Form Player

Not conceding a goal is of the utmost importance for Bayern Munich, making Jerome Boateng's performance a pivotal one. In eight Champions League appearances, the 26-year-old is averaging 2.3 interceptions and 3.5 clearances.
