Chicago laid the wood to the upstart Bucks in Game 1 and also got more than 20 points from former MVP Derrick Rose, marking his first playoffs appearance since 2012 when he tore his ACL.

"I think we have a great opportunity," Joakim Noah told the team's official website. "We just have to stay humble and hungry. Derrick played really well. It was so good to see him competing the way he competed."

While Rose was the storyline, Jimmy Butler topped the team in scoring and remained their most crucial player. He scored 25 points and handed out six assists in Game 1, but according to Butler, the myriad sources of offense offset Chicago's lack of a true star at this point of the year.

"As long as we stay healthy and everyone keeps his confidence high I think it's going to be tough for teams to key in on any one guy because we have so many guys who do so many things well," Butler said. "So if we just keep playing team basketball and give our all for the team, we will continue to win."

Defensively, the Bulls held Milwaukee to 91 points and 39 percent shooting. Giannis Antetokuonmpo in particular was held in check, making just 4-of-13 from the field.
