Cain Velasquez is preparing for his clash with interim UFC Heavyweight champion Fabrício Werdum in June, but he said to "never say never" regarding a possible bout in the squared circle with the WWE.

Velasquez spoke with The Roman Show and was asked if a possible future WWE run could be in the works for him after seeing star Ronda Rousey have a shocking segment at WrestleMania 31 last month.

"Not anytime soon," Velasquez told the show. "I am focused on this fight [against Werdum]. Let's see what happens on my career in fighting [although] I can never say never."

He continued: "We will just have to wait."

Rousey was involved in a segment at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California where she aided Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson during his argument with Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

"Rowdy" got into a verbal and physical altercation with the duo and the UFC Women's Bantamweight champion, who is an avid WWE fan, said she is hopeful to work with the company again down the line.

Velasquez won't be joining her anytime soon as he prepares for his fight with Werdum at UFC 188 on June 13.

The fight will mark Velasquez's return to the Octagon after suffering a torn meniscus and sprained MCL in his right knee in October.

Velasquez was the UFC Heavyweight champion when he went down and Werdum emerged as the interim title-holder in his absence. Now, the two will clash in Mexico this summer.

If Velasquez eventually enters the realm of professional wrestling, he certainly won't be the first person to jump back and forth from the Octagon and the squared circle.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar had a very successful UFC career while former WWE Superstar CM Punk is training for his MMA debut later this year.

Velasquez is focusing on his big fight coming up, but as he said one can "never say never" about a possible WWE run for the fighter.
