Academy-Award winning actor Denzel Washington is vehemently denying media reports he and his wife of 30 years are estranged and may even be heading for divorce court.
According to RadarOnline.com, Washington, who starred in Spike Lee’s basketball cult film He Got Game, and won Oscars as best male actor in a leading role for Training Day as well as best supporting male actor in Glory, was photographed this week kissing another woman. A source told the website Washington's wife Pauletta Pearson, 62, has now moved to New York "to contemplate if she's ready to end the marriage for good."
News of the blowup comes at a time when the couple appears on the current cover of Ebony magazine giving what was heralded as a “rare portrait” into “one of Hollywood’s longest running couples.”
In the piece, Pauletta told the magazine “I live with this man, I see the down part. I see the sad part. I see every part. He has and knows he has stability in me as his wife. That’s what gives him strength, regardless if he misuses it. I can’t dwell on that. But I do know that gives him a great platform to go and fly.”
Radar reports at least four photos of the 58-year-old actor “touching the hands and legs” of an unidentified woman and “kissing her on the lips” have emerged.
It’s not first time Washington has been implicated. In 2003 rumors floated he was having an affair with his Out of Time co-star Sanaa Lathan.
