The season-long nightmare for Lakers fans is finally over, and the team’s own Nick Young says he empathizes. The team struggled to an ugly 21-61 final record, good for second-to-last in the Western Conference.

TMZ Sports tracked down Swaggy P whilst he was on his way to the Toast Cafe in Los Angeles, and the guard admitted that things “[were] tough for us.” However, he asked angry fans to cut the young players some slack despite their poor play, saying “they deserve to unwind a little bit.”

Young himself had a season to forget. His scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, field goal percentage, and three point percentage were all down in 2014-15. Head coach Byron Scott often expressed frustration with Young’s shoot-happy and carefree demeanor, going so far as to bench him during one particularly bad stretch mid-season.

“I blame it on the rim,” Young recently joked when asked about his shooting woes, via the LA Daily News. “The rim was tripping this year. Next year, I’m going to take her on a date and treat her a little better.”
