Scottie Pippen Sued By Autograph Seeking Fan He Knocked Out, Alleges Called Him N-Word

NBA Hall of Fame forward Scottie Pippen has been sued by an autograph seeking fan he fought with outside a famed Malibu eatery late last month.

According to E! News, 50-something year-old luxury car business owner Carman Shafighi claims Pippen spit at him and repeatedly punched and kicked him after he asked for an autograph and a picture with the Chicago Bulls legend. By the time police arrived at the famed sushi hotspot Nobu on the night of June 23, they found an unconscious Shafighi sprawled across the pavement and suffering from a broken tooth, swollen mouth and head injuries.

Pippen, 47, voluntarily reported to the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department for questioning soon thereafter, at which time he told police Shafighi spit on him and called him the N-word when he exited the restaurant carrying his four-year-old daughter and declined his request for an autograph.

“He came in and was very cooperative and answered a lot of questions,” said L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Pat Davoren. “Our detectives have to do further investigation, mainly talking to other witnesses.”

Seeking unspecified damages, the suit also alleges that Shafighi now suffers from nausea, headaches and breathing difficulties.

Pippen won six NBA titles while playing alongside Michael Jordan with the Bulls and was a member of the original 1992 Dream Team. He was elected to the NBA Hall of Fame in 2010.
