Former WWE Diva Kaitlyn knows what it's like to retire from the company at a young age and she said she "100 percent supports" AJ Lee for recently departing the organization.

Ronda Rousey Says 'There's No Way I Can't Go Back' To To WWE

Kaitlyn, a former WWE Divas Champion, decided to walk away from the company last July to focus on family life and other ventures, and she said she supports her friend Lee's decision to do the same.

"AJ has this weird ability to accomplish anything that she visualizes. So when she worked her way up to the top, she stayed up there," Kaitlyn told WWE.com. "No one has been like her, and no one will ever be like her. She really just felt like she had given everything that she needed to give to this sport in general, and taught people - especially the Divas - as much as she could. She had four amazing WrestleManias, and she made such an impact that she felt like she could walk away and be content with that. I 100 percent support that. She knew the time was right, and knew that she could walk away. She left big shoes to fill, but she helped everyone around her get better. I'm proud of everything that she did."

Lee announced earlier this month that she decided to walk away from the WWE and retire from in-ring competition.

The three-time Divas Champion teamed up with Paige in her last high-profile bout against the Bella twins at WrestleMania 31 and got the win for her team after making Nikki Bella tap out to the Black Widow.

Despite her decision to retire, the WWE has been very supportive of Lee and even tweeted a photo gallery of her on Thursday:

While it hasn't been confirmed why Lee left the WWE, there are a lot of rumors that it has something to do with her husband CM Punk.

Punk walked out on the WWE in January of 2014 and he and Lee retained their relationship despite the Diva staying with the company. Lee took two separate hiatuses from the organization since Punk's departure and one was for their wedding last June.

Punk appeared on Colt Cabana's podcast and blasted the WWE and company doctor Chris Amann while explaining why he decided to part ways with the industry.

"The Best in the World" also revealed that he received his termination papers from the company on his wedding day with Lee.

Punk alleged Dr. Amann misdiagnosed him on several occasions, which included him brushing off a concussion on the night before the former WWE Champion left the company. Punk also claimed that Dr. Amann said a staph infection he had was just a fatty deposit.

Dr. Amann swiftly countered with a lawsuit and that is what reportedly led to Lee deciding to leave the organization on good terms.

There was some controversy when Lee appeared alongside Punk when he announced he was joining UFC in December and there was reportedly some turmoil over her Diva of the Year acceptance speech that month as well.

Lee also had a questionable moment with Stephanie McMahon on Twitter when she publicly called out the WWE executive over the use of the Divas.

Still, the WWE has supported Lee's decision to retire and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the three-time Divas Champion.
