"Stone Cold" Steve Austin may want to open up a can of whoopass on John Cena.

The WWE United States Champion recently started doing a modified version of the "Stone Cold" Stunner which is a springboard stunner, and Austin discussed the decision to use the move recently on his podcast.

Austin had founder of Super Training Gym Mark Bell and his brother, Bigger, Stronger, Faster documentary filmmaker Chris Bell on the latest edition of The Steve Austin Show podcast on PodcastOne.com.

The trio discussed various different topics, including WrestleMania 31, and Austin showed them a video of Cena using the springboard stunner.

All three men used the term "gimmick infringement" throughout the conversation, and Austin seemed to be a little offended, at least to some degree.

Austin didn't state that he was completely upset about the use of the move, but he said he wanted the stunner to mean something and that the springboard aspect is potentially dangerous.

"The Texas Rattlesnake" also took exception to it being used as another set-up to a finisher rather than a potential finishing move now that guys have kicked out of it.

"Had they looked further down the road than the short-term, [Cena] would have had a valid, great, badass finish instead of a set-up that now means nothing," Austin said, according to WrestlingInc.

Austin has reportedly been at odds with the WWE as there was some sort of falling out with Vince McMahon, which may have had something to do with Austin's podcasts on the WWE Network with Vince McMahon and Triple H, but it's uncertain what the specifics were.

The six-time WWE Champion also didn't take part in any WrestleMania 31 festivities last month despite the fact that the WWE was expecting him to be there.

There have been rumors that Austin could return for one final match at WrestleMania 32, which takes place in his home state of Texas at AT&T Stadium on April 3, 2016.

Austin hasn't wrestled since losing to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at WrestleMania XIX in 2003. One possible dream match opponent for Austin would be Cena, and this could be a subtle way to build things up, but it's unknown if Austin will be willing to return after his recent struggles with the WWE.

It's possible down the line that Austin could stomp a mudhole in Cena and walk it dry.
