METS vs GIANTS Watch Live Stream Online & Listen: Live Coverage from AT&T Park San Francisco

The New York Mets (39-488) and San Francisco Giants (40-49) carry different perceptions, largely because the Mets were abominable in the second half of the 2012 season and the Giants won a World Series. However, in 2013 the two teams are not far apart, and the Mets are the team riding a three-game winning streak into today's 3:45 game, which can be live streamed here. Mets fans can listen to the game on 101.9 WFAN FM while Giants fans can tune in to KNBR 680.

The Giants will send Matt Cain (5-5, 4.85 ERA) to the mound, following the worst start of his career against the Dodgers in which he surrendered eight runs in just 2.1 innings. The disastrous outing followed five consecutive good starts, which had led Giants fans to believe he was back on track.

After that brutal outing manager Bruce Bochy said, "He just got out of sync and then couldn't get back on track. It happens. He's been throwing the ball so well, too, but tonight he was off. There's not a lot you can do as a pitcher when you get out of sync like that."

He will face a Mets lineup that is short on stars, but has hit the Giants well in this series. Cain will try to put the breaks on a sweep attempt by the Mets.

His opponent will be hotshot rookie Zack Wheeler (2-1, 4.29 ERA) who is trying to follow in the footsteps of Matt Harvey and dominate right out of the gate. That hasn't happened so far, but Wheeler's shown very good stuff and projects to have a nice career.

In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers, the rookie gave up one run over five innings and said he felt good, but would like to harness his location.

I am happy about my outing even though there were some low points," Wheeler said. "You know throwing 20 pitches an inning and only going five, but I battled out there as best I could and got a good result."
