Jameis Winston has been called the best quarterback prospect to come out of college football - other than Andrew Luck - in more than a decade. He can make all the throws, he is a smart player, he has a reputation as a winner, and he shows a great deal of poise regardless of game situations.

And while all of that delights NFL teams and scouts, many also have concerns about his ability to handle himself away from the field. Apparently NFL teams (looking at you, Tampa Bay) have reason to be concerned about Winston, as his lawyer David Cornwell also recently spoke out and questioned the young man's readiness for the NFL lifestyle.
"He's ready to be an NFL player on the field. But he's not ready to be an NFL player off the field" - Cornwell on Winston. Gotdamn.

And apparently right after saying that, Cornwell realized how that would come across and tried to backtrack a bit.

"We have to assist him in growing and developing as a man. And it's not going to be easy" - Cornwell on Winston. — Joel D. Anderson (@byjoelanderson) April 10, 2015
Just spoke with Cornwell. The implication is that Jameis still has some growing to do, not that he's unprepared to be in the NFL.

"I don’t think (Winston) is unique. I don’t think anyone is ready. No one is ready for this world when they come into it" - Cornwell. — Joel D. Anderson (@byjoelanderson) April 10, 2015
