Police Recover "FEG Hungarian Rifle” And Gunshot Residue Kit In Search Of Aaron Hernandez Home

Police found what’s described as an “FEG Hungarian rifle” hidden in a gym bag located in the back seat of a parked vehicle inside the garage of Aaron Hernandez’s mansion during one of their many searches of his home, according to The Boston Herald.

On a day when a Massachusetts judge ordered the state to make more of the evidence thus gathered in the first-degree murder case against the former New England Patriots star tight end available to the media, prosecutors released details about executed search warrants and affidavits used to secure them.

Documents reveal police also took a “gunshot residue kit” from a mattress, personal clothes belonging to Hernandez and a box of .22 caliber ammunition. In addition, investigators seized an Apple iPhone 5, a Blackberry “Bold” cell phone, three iPads, a digital recorder and a hard drive.

In all, 156 pages of documents related to the case were released, including details about eight separate search warrants that were executed between June 18 and July 1. Four of those searches took place at a nearby “flop house” Hernandez is alleged to have been renting.

According to The Herald, it’s there where investigators recovered a baseball hat and hooded sweatshirt Hernandez is believed to have been wearing on the night of Odin Lloyd’s execution-style slaying.

Hernandez is being held without bail in the case and confined to solitary confinement. Associates Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace have also been charged in connection with the slaying, and police say they have also recovered a “boarding receipt” for Wallace showing that he fled the area soon after Lloyd’s body was found.
