More news is beginning to trickle out as to why WWE Diva AJ Lee decided to leave the company and it appears it could have something to do with a lawsuit between WWE doctor Chris Amann and her husband CM Punk.

Punk was silent for a while after walking out on the WWE in January of 2014, but he broke that silence on his friend Colt Cabana's podcast last November.
Punk blasted the WWE for its creative use for him and claimed that Dr. Amann misdiagnosed him on several occasions, which included claims of downplaying a concussion and mistaking a staph infection as a fatty deposit when Punk showed him a lump on his back.

Dr. Amann swiftly responded with a defamation lawsuit against Punk, which also included Cabana for facilitating the interview.
Lee, who married Punk last June, decided to retire from in-ring competition in the WWE, the company announced in a tweet this past weekend.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, people close to the situation believe that the fallout from the lawsuit between Dr. Amann and Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, caused the three-time Divas Champion to opt to leave the company.
Per Wrestlingheadlines.com, Lee called her departure a retirement in order to get out of the rest of her WWE contract.
There is a belief that the WWE wasn't aware of Lee's departure until after WrestleMania 31 due to the booking of her match at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. as she and Paige took on The Bella Twins in a tag team contest.
Lee made WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella tap to end the bout, but it's likely if the WWE knew of her departure, it wouldn't have booked her to beat the reigning champion cleanly like she did.
It was likely a tumultuous time for Lee in the WWE as she and Punk got engaged after he left the company and she remained in the WWE while he bad-mouthed the organization on Cabana's podcast.
Lee was also by Punk's side when he announced he was joining the UFC last December, something which reportedly drew the ire of WWE officials at the time.
Lee also reportedly had some heat on her for her Slammy Awards speech in December and after she publicly called out executive Stephanie McMahon on Twitter for the WWE's use of the Divas prior to returning from her most recent hiatus.
Punk and Lee tied the knot in June while she took a sabbatical from the company and the "Best in the World" said he received his termination papers from the WWE on their wedding day.
Lee, 28, left a great legacy in the WWE, which includes three Divas Championship reigns and three Slammy Awards -- including two for Diva of the Year in 2012 and 2014.
