San Francisco scored four runs in the fifth inning on Opening Day on Monday and outlasted Arizona with a 5-4 victory to spoil the Diamondbacks' home opener.

Outfielder Angel Pagan and shortstop Brandon Crawford each drove in two runs for the Giants in the victory. Pagan had three hits in the game while second baseman Joe Panik also notched a trio of hits and scored a pair of runs in the game.

Jake Lamb drove in three runs for the Diamondbacks as a pinch hitter and left fielder Ender Inciarte scored twice in the contest.

The Giants enter the 2015 campaign after winning their third World Series title in five years in 2014. San Francisco finished with an 88-74 record and in second place in the NL West last season.

The Giants went on to nab a wild-card spot and defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates in the play-in game before toppling the Washington Nationals in four games, the St. Louis Cardinals in five matches and the Kansas City Royals in seven contests en route to the Fall Classic crown.

The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, finished with a 64-98 overall mark and in last place in the NL West. It marked the first losing season for Arizona in over five years and the third consecutive season it missed the playoffs.

The first series of 2015 continues for two NL West rivals when the Giants and Diamondbacks go head-to-head live tonight from Chase Field
