MLB Opening Day 2015: 5 Greatest Moments After Memorable Start To The Season [VIDEOS]

After months of anticipation, the 2015 Major League Baseball season kicked off on Sunday night and continued with Opening Day for several teams on Monday in what was a memorable slate of games.

Following a long, grueling winter and then an elongated spring training slate, 14 games were contested between 28 clubs on Monday.

Here are our five greatest moments from Opening Day 2015:

5) Priceless: Detroit Tigers ace David Price tossed a gem on Opening Day, pitching 8.2 shutout innings while yielding just five hits with no walks and five strikeouts. After getting into trouble in the ninth inning, manager Brad Ausmus summoned Joe Nathan from the bullpen and he shut the door as the Tigers topped the Minnesota Twins 4-0 at Comerica Park.

4) King Me: Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout kicked off his campaign with a homer off of Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez for the second season in a row, this time after a lengthy eight-pitch at-bat. Hernandez and the Mariners would get the last laugh as it would prove to be the only run "King Felix" allowed. Hernandez gave up just two hits through seven innings, striking out 10 as the Mariners won 4-1 at Safeco Field.

3) Welcome to Hollywood: Shortstop Jimmy Rollins made quite an impression in his debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rollins went 2-for-4 on the afternoon and launched his first homer in Dodger blue with two men on base. Los Angeles dropped the rival San Diego Padres 6-3 at Dodger Stadium.

2) Boston Party: Hanley Ramirez made his debut with the Boston Red Sox count by thumping two home runs -- including a grand slam -- on Opening Day while second baseman Dustin Pedroia added a pair of his own. The Red Sox went on to pound the Philadelphia Phillies 8-0 at Citizens Bank Park.

1) Sonny Days: Oakland Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray flirted with history when he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning of the team's Opening Day matchup with the Texas Rangers. Ryan Rua led off the frame with a base-hit to right, ending the bid. Gray still had a great performance on Monday, however, yielding the lone hit through eight scoreless innings en route to helping the A's topple the Rangers 8-0 at the O.co Coliseum.
