The Washington Redskins have a bit of a quagmire on their hands when it comes to their quarterback situation. The team has said that Robert Griffin III will open the 2015 season as the starter, but they have also indicated that they will not pass on Marcus Mariota if he is available when they draft with the fifth overall pick.

The team also still has Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy on the roster, and wild speculation has been bandied about as to how the position will actually shake out for the team. For their part, the players have been pretty quiet on the whole thing, particularly RG3. He did, however, have some things to say recently on the subject of parenting, according to TMZ.

Griffin is expecting a child with his wife Rebecca, which the couple announced for the first time back in February. Since then, they have apparently received all kinds of advice from friends and family (and probably from a lot of other sources) about the things they need to do to prepare for having a baby.

When asked what the best piece of advice he's gotten so far was, Griffin said that it was to load up on sleep because he will not be able to get nearly as much once the kid is born.

Also, if you figure that the couple announced their pregnancy at around the three-month mark (which is pretty common), then that would put Rebecca at four and a half or five month's pregnant right now. In other words, the child is tracking for an August birthday, which is the eve of the NFL season.

RG3 better stock up on sleep indeed. It is hard enough to play quarterback in the NFL anyway; if he is running low on sleep because of a newborn, that could spell trouble for him and the team.
