Pittsburgh made the postseason for the second straight campaign last year after finishing 88-74. The Pirates fell to the eventual World Series champion San Francisco Giants 8-0 in the wild-card game in what was a heart-breaking loss.

Cincinatti, meanwhile, ended the 2014 campaign with a 76-86 mark and in fourth place in the NL Central. The Reds missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2011 season.

Both of these teams reside in a highly competive NL Central that has seen the Chicago Cubs vastly improve in the offseason and is still led by the St. Louis Cardinals.
