Dwyane Wade’s longtime, Hollywood actress girlfriend Gabrielle Union tells Extra’s Maria Menunous that she would like to have a child with the NBA star in the near future.
“I always knew I was going to wait really long, and I followed the Halle Berry example,” the 40-year-old union told Extra. “I think in the next couple of years, if I’m lucky, I will make that a reality, hopefully.”
Wade, who along with reigning league MVP LeBron James just led the Miami Heat to their second straight NBA title, already has custody of his two young sons from a previous marriage as well a nephew he has also legally adopted.
”I think in the industry that we’re in, it’s not taboo to be an older mom,” added Union, who has starred in such films as Bring It On, Bad Boys 11 and The Best Man. “You’re not alone. There’s such a huge support to start a family a little but older and it’s okay.”
Union later told the interviewer: of her earlier concerns “I knew I wasn’t going to be the kind of parent I would want to be. I would be way too selfish and resent having to miss out on things. Now, I’m in a place where I’m happy and still wanting adventure, but I want part of that adventure to include a child.”
