It was a sight most members of the WWE Universe thought they'd never see as Sting stood across from Triple H in a WWE ring for the first time in WrestleMania history under the California sky at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Sting and Triple H fought in an entertaining battle that saw run-ins from D-Generation X members Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and Shawn Michaels and nWo stalwarts Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.
In the end, "The Game" thwarted off "The Vigilante" by hitting him with a sledgehammer and winning the clash between two legends, closing the book on the WWE vs. WCW rivalry 14 years after Ted Turner's company went under.

Sting appeared on the WWE Network following RAW on Monday and talked about his first experience in a WWE ring.
"I gotta tell you, in so many ways it felt very normal," Sting said. "It felt very natural and yeah because of you fans I felt right at home. I mean we're talking WrestleMania. We're talking about the biggest spectacle in all of sports entertainment and there I was face-to-face with Triple H. I know I came up short, but hey, I'm just glad to finally say that I was there."
After years of close-calls and then months more of negotiating, Sting agreed to join the WWE after spending his entire career in WCW and TNA.
"The Icon" then made his debut at the Survivor Series in November and made sporadic appearances since then, culminating in his first ever WWE match this past Sunday.
The 56-year-old told the WWE Universe he didn't know what the future held for him when he was peppered with "Undertaker" chants from the crowd, which wanted to see the much-anticipated clash that has yet to happen.
"The Vigilante" said he was open to returning if the WWE wants him to.
"I don't know," Sting said when Renee Young asked him about his future in the WWE. "I don't know what the future holds, but I do know this...I don't know. I don't know what the future holds, I really don't know. I don't know what opportunities the WWE might throw my way, but whatever they do throw my way, I'm gonna reach out and I'm gonna grab it. And if they don't throw anything my way, well that's just too bad. It's a crying shame as far as I'm concerned."
Sting was interrupted by Bo Dallas, who said he ruined his legacy in front of 70,000-plus people and that all he had to do was Bo-lieve. Sting then hit him with a Scorpion Death Drop to end the segment.
Sting had his shoulders pinned to the mat after making his WWE debut on Sunday, but it may not be the last the WWE Universe sees of "The Vigilante."
