With a historic WrestleMania 31 in the rearview mirror, the WWE will now begin to build toward Extreme Rules 2015, which emanates live from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. on April 26.
Seth Rollins Discusses His Plan Coming To Fruition At WrestleMania 31
The WWE has yet to announce any matches for the card, but we here at Sports World News will take a shot at projecting the possible lineup for the most extreme night of the year for the company.
Despite the name of the event, the WWE for some reason doesn't add a stipulation for every match, so we'll follow that format.
The Bella Twins Respond To Lita and Trish Stratus' Challenge
With Brock Lesnar suspended in storyline, it is unlikely it'll be lifted by the time this event rolls around, so he will be left off of this projected card.
Seth Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in shocking fashion at WrestleMania 31 after cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Looking ahead, there are three possibilities for Rollins as he can either battle Randy Orton one-on-one, take on Roman Reigns in a singles bout or clash with both of them in a Triple Threat Match.
Since "The Viper" never got pinned to lose the title last year at WrestleMania XXX and also didn't get a rematch, it seems like he'd be the logical opponent since he also defeated "The Architect" cleanly at WrestleMania 31 before he went on to win the gold.
In this scenario, Orton would face Rollins in an Extreme Rules match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship while Reigns would team up with Ryback to battle Big Show and Kane in a Tag Team Tables Match.
Elsewhere for the Intercontinental Championship, Daniel Bryan will defend his new title in a Fatal 4 Way Match against Dolph Ziggler, former champion Bad News Barrett and the returning Sheamus.
John Cena and Rusev will finish off their feud with a third encounter for the United States Championship, with this bout taking place within the confines of a steel cage.
Over in the tag team division, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd will do battle with The New Day now that the babyface stable got some momentum over the Tag Team Champions in the eight-man tag match on RAW.
In the final championship match, AJ Lee will have Paige by her side when she goes after Nikki Bella, who will be flanked by Brie Bella, and her WWE Divas Championship on the show. Lee made Nikki Bella tap out at WrestleMania, so it would make sense that she's in line for a title shot.
In another grudge match, Damien Sandow and his former boss The Miz will finally go head-to-head following the conclusion of their mentor-protégé relationship during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31.
Elsewhere, two Superstars with plenty of history with each other that are looking to redeem WrestleMania losses will go at it as Bray Wyatt will battle Dean Ambrose in a falls count anywhere match.
