Dwight Howard Decision Between Lakers, Mavericks, Rockets, Warriors And Hawks By Friday, Coming July 5?

Even though “it’s totally up in the air,” ESPN is reporting free-agent center Dwight Howard is hoping to decide what team he will sign with by Friday.

After spending the early part of the week meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks, the League’s most sought after free agent reportedly has now left L.A. to contemplate his decision.

Though L.A. and Houston are widely viewed as the favorites, according to ESPN the Warriors also made a grand impression on Howard, who was said to be blown away by Golden State coach Mark Jackson’s motivational speech.

Howard also seems intrigued by the prospect of playing with the trio of sharpshooters Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes.

Though the Lakers can offer Howard $118 million, $30 million more than any other team, Howard has been noncommittal based on his frustrations with playing in Mike D-Antoni’s up-tempo offense.

During his postseason interview, Howard told GM Mitch Kupchak he felt misused throughout the entire season. During their meeting with him on Tuesday, All-Star guard Kobe Bryant implored him to allow him to teach him how to become a champion.

“You need to learn how it’s done first, and I can teach you here,” Yahoo! Sports reported Bryant told him. “You need to learn how it’s done. I know how to do it and I’ve learned from the best.”
