San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is dating Scandal star and Hollywood actress Kerry Washington, according to E! News.
Both Washington and Asomugha are dedicated activists and philanthropists and are involved with the William J. Clinton Foundation, which some speculate is where they may have met.
The two would also seem to be compatible in that the 31-year-old Asomugha has some acting experience, appearing in such productions as The Game, Friday Night Lights and Leverage.
Since breaking up with fiancée David Moscow, the actor that played the young Tom Hanks in the movie Big, Washington, 36, has gone to great lengths to keep her off-screen life private.
Still, in Elle magazine's June 2013 issue, Washington, who also recently starred in Django Unchained, declared herself the "the luckiest broad in Hollywood."
The 31-year-old Asomugha may now well-be of the same mind. Previously he spent eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders and two with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now he’s with the 2013 Super Bowl playing 49ers … and he has Kerry Washington at his side.
In a recent Vanity Fair cover story, Washington said she was very aware of the fact the smash-hit Scandal is not just a TV phenomenon, but also breaking color barriers with the actress being only the second black woman in almost 40 years to lead a network drama.
In September she will reprise the role. Until then, according to E! News, she'll most likely be co-starring with Asomugha.
