Oklahoma has shored up its defense after an early exit to last year's tournament.

"It wasn't a tough sales job," coach Lon Kruger said of the team's defensive mentality changing after a first-round exit in 2014, according to ESPN.

The change in approach isn't lost on Michigan State coach Tom Izzo.

"I think Lon Kruger has proven that no matter where he goes, he can make tweaks in what he does, but his system works," Izzo told ESPN.

Trice led the Spartans in the regular season by averaging a team-best 14.8 points and 5.2 assists per game while Buddy Hield has paced the Sooners with 17.5 points per contest.
