Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, the Montreal Canadiens (46-20-8, 100 points) and Winnipeg Jets (38-24-12, 88 points) face-off for the second and final time this season live from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.

Montreal had a three-game winning streak snapped last time out and is closing out a two-match road trip while Winnipeg had a five-game winning streak halted last time it played and opens up a four-match home stand.

The Canadiens enter play atop the NHL, Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division while the Jets currently hold the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, two points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings (86).

The first time these two teams met this season, Montreal defeated Winnipeg 3-0 on Nov. 11.

The Canadiens are coming in off of a huge 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators in overtime on Tuesday.

Max Pacioretty paces Montreal with 64 points this season off of 35 goals and 29 assists while P.K. Subban leads the Canadiens with 39 helpers and is tied with Tomas Plekanec (22 tallies, 30 assists) with 52 points.

The Jets enter play on the heels of a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

Andrew Ladd has guided Winnipeg this season with 58 points off of 24 goals and 34 assists while Blake Wheeler has found the back of the net 23 times and added 34 helpers to rank second on the Jets with 57 points.

In the crease, Winnipeg turns to Ondrej Pavelec and he is 18-14-7 with a 2.36 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Montreal is projected to turn to backup netminder Dustin Tokarski between the pipes and he is 6-5-3 on the campaign with a 2.66 GAA and a .917 save percentage.
