Tonight at 7:15 p.m. ET the 2015 NCAA Tournament will resume in the Midwest Region, where the seventh-seeded Wichita State Shockers will try to continue their underdog run against the No. 3 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In a shocking turn of events, a Shockers win tonight would be far from shocking. In spite of a No. 7 seed, Wichita State has been installed as a favorite by Las Vegas oddsmakers after they pounded the No. 2 seed Kansas Jayhawks in the second half of their Sunday victory.

The Shockers have been here before as well, so guard Ron Baker talked about moving on from their upset over Kansas. "You realize cloud nine can be replaced by cloud 10 if you win these two games this week," Baker said.

Wichita State will face an Irish squad playing with heavy hearts, coming off one of the more thrilling victories of this year's tournament. Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey lost his mother before Saturday's win over Butler, and didn't even tell his team until afterward.

Brey said his mother instilled the intensity needed to make it through a grinding tournament such as March Madness.

"To be around that intensity every day, maybe it wasn't the healthiest," Brey said. "I'll probably need therapy later in life because of it, but I'll tell you one thing: she made me think about competing every day."

Notre Dame has shown the will to compete since the ACC Tournament, when they defeated Duke and North Carolina, then survived two upset bids ahead of tonight's Sweet 16 tilt.
