Jennifer Hudson, American Idol finalist, world-famous recording artist and fiancé of World Wrestling Entertainment superstar David Otunga, sang Silent Night in the trailer of Black Nativity, a gospel-song play bringing a modern tilt to the age-old nativity story.
Black Nativity is directed by Kasi Simmons, and tells the story of a Baltimore teenager growing up in the ghetto with a single mother, who travels to New York to spend Christmas with relatives he had lost touch with. The trip to New York becomes a "surprising and inspirational journey."
Black Nativity is set to premiere in theaters November 27th, and stars Mary J. Blige, Tyrese Gibson and Forest Whitaker, along with Dreamgirls star Hudson.
Meanwhile, with regards to Otunga, there unfortunately seems to be trouble on the horizon for the star couple. Sources close to the pair say Otunga isn't happy with Hudson's weight; interestingly enough she may have lost too much.
"Jennifer's weight has been an issue between them ever since she lost her first big chunk of weight in 2010," a source said. "When they met, she was a happy, proud, healthy woman who loved food and embraced every aspect of life with so much enthusiasm."
The source also said that the new, thin Hudson is too conscious of her eating habits and appearance, and has lost her carefree attitude. The source continued:
"Now she takes up to four hours to get ready when they go out, and she gets stressed out every time she puts a morsel of food in her mouth. David tells her he thinks she's beautiful no matter what size she is, but he misses the down-to-earth 'I don't care' Jen. Every meal is a pain in the butt, and he's starting to feel totally sidelined by her obsession with her weight."
