Except for one harsh tweet, Colin Kaepernick continues to try to do the right things on and off the field.

49ers.com reported on the San Francisco 49er quarterback's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in an arm-wrestling event against Kimmel's Cousin Sal. The stunt was part of an online commercial for Visa.

Workout coach, Jim Tomsula praise Colin Kaepernick in generalities

In the video, Cousin Sal challenges Kaepernick, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to arm-wrestling bouts - Cousin Sal winning each one by cheating.

Kaepernick just completed his 10-week offseason workout program at EXOS Performance in Arizona with quarterbacks coach Dennis Gile and two-time NFL MVP Kurt Warner.

While Gile praised Kaepernick's work ethic during the training, the quarterbacks coach was vague about specifics of Kaepernick's training, other than to say that he felt Kaepernick did become more consistent with his short-passing throws.

Hostile tweet from Colin Kaepernick show the pressure he's under?

Kaepernick also recently signed a female fan's arm, where she had a tattoo of Kaepernick's name. She gushed that she was hoping just to get a quick autograph on paper, and instead she captured their interaction on her Instagram account and talked about the moment being a lifetime memory.

The enigmatic Kaepernick has been the source of considerable debate since the unceremonious ending to the 2014 NFL season.

Kaepernick had his worst season as a starter, and the 49ers finished the season missing the playoffs at 8-8. Coach Jim Harbaugh bolted for the University of Michigan, pundits wondered aloud if Kaepernick can become an elite quarterback and the new 49ers coaching staff still holds the option of being able to release him before April 1 on any of his next season and be free of any further contractual obligations.

He also talked about his offseason conditioning on his Twitter account; one particular tweet about his abs workout drew a smart alec response from a random fan saying "ab workout won't help find open receiver."

That drew the ire of Kaepernick, who went off on the man.

A newspaper covering Kaepernick in college then criticized Kaepernick for responding to the man in the manner in which he did.

Since then, Kaepernick has kept his nose clean.
