Dwight Howard Gets Time Warner Reality Show Offer If He Stays In L.A.

Time Warner Cable is offering free-agent center Dwight Howard his own reality TV show if he re-signs with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition to offering him a max five-year deal at $118 million, L.A. is pulling out all the stops in hopes of retaining the 27-year-old All-Star veteran. On Tuesday, a team including the Buss family, GM Mitch Kupchak, Kobe Bryant and possibly Steve Nash and coach Mike D’Antoni are all slated meet with him.

Just hours before on Monday, Hollywood film legend and longtime Lakers fan Jack Nicholson reportedly got in on the act by phoning Howard and pleading his case for him to stay on. Over the weekend, Phil Jackson, who just re-signed with the team as a consultant, tweeted Howard urging him “to get on board.”

Now comes word of the show offer, according to ESPN, which further reports the nature of the show is unknown but that the cable giant is said to be desperate for original programming.

Howard is said to be still pondering all the possibilities. The Houston Rockets have already met with him and the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks are all expected to soon follow suit.

At the team’s request, the L.A. contingent will be the last group he will meet with. Howard has already stated he plans to make his decision known by July 10.
