Dwight Howard Wants Houston To Add Another Max Player [REPORT]

Dwight Howard would like the Houston Rockets to sign another max level player before committing to join with the organization, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Rockets met with Howard Sunday night in Los Angeles and the free-agent center repeatedly peppered their team of GM Daryl Morey, coach Kevin McHale and players James Harden and Chandler Parsons about if and how the team planned to add another max-contract free agent to play alongside himself and Harden, The Chronicle reported.

According to the newspaper, McHale also laid out for Howard how he would be featured as part of a retooled offense and how he envisioned him and Harden forming a new dynamic duo.

The Rockets have already cleared out more than $20 million in salary in hopes of landing Howard, including dealing Thomas Robinson to the Blazers and waiving guards Aaron Brooks and Carlos Delfino.

Speculation is the team may also be willing to deal guard Jeremy Lin and center Omer Asik to create even more cap space. Both players were signed as key free agent pickups by the team just a year ago.

Hall of Famers and franchise legends Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon were also part of the Rockets sales pitch team. Howard has spent the last several off-seasons working out with Olajuwon.
