It's time for Pete Rose to make the trip to Cooperstown.

At least that's the opinion of one Andruw Jones, former centerfielder for the Atlana Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees.

Reports are circulating around baseball that new commissioner Rob Manfred is considering lifting the lifetime ban on Rose. Charlie Hustle was the league's all time hits leader (4,256!), but was kicked out of baseball following revelations that he was betting on games as a manager of the Cincinnati Reds in 1989.

Rose has just reapplied for reinstatement and has the full backing on the MLB Player's Union.

TMZ Sports asked Andruw Jones how he felt about Rose's punishment, and the 37-year-old adopted a forgiving attitude.

"It's all about what you did on the field, not off the field," Jones said.

Jones isn't quite Cooperstown bound himself, but he sure knows a good player when he sees one. Over the course of his own 17-year-career Jones hit 434 home runs and drove in 1289 RBI, including a 51/128 2005 season that saw him finish second in the NL MVP race.
