Peter King of Sports Illustrated’s Monday Morning Quarterback blog is reporting that Winston is planning to forego attendance at the draft extravaganza, electing instead to spend time at his home with friends and families.

Plenty of prospects and their families hold viewing parties on draft day, but it’s not often the first overall pick isn’t there in person.

This year’s draft is going down in Chicago, rather than its longtime home of New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

Winston won 27 straight games for the Seminoles in his career in Tallahassee. He led them to a national championship and took home a Heisman Trophy in 2013, and in 2014 they ran the table in the regular season before losing to Marcus Mariota’s Oregon Ducks in the inaugural college football national semifinal at the Rose Bowl.
