Two clubs in the Eastern Conference of MLS will do battle today in a league match between the New York City FC and the New England Revolution. NYC FC midfielder Mix Diskerud (via MLS): "It was a surreal experience when you see the ball get in the back of the net. It's been a long preseason, so it feels good to get things started. It was fun for me and this experience [my MLS debut] is something I'll take with me for the rest of my life."
New England defender Chris Tierney: "New York City FC are coming off a result on the road, so it'll be a tough task for us away, but at the same time, we feel like if we play up to our standard—which I'm afraid we didn't [against the Seattle Sounders]—then we'll have a good chance to win."
