Today at 1 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings (37-18-11, 85 points) and Philadelphia Flyers (28-27-14, 70 points) face-off for the third and final time on the campaign live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Detroit has dropped three of its past four matches and opens up a four-game road swing while Philadelphia has lost four consecutive contests and stops home before embarking on a four-match road trip of its own.

The Red Wings currently hold the third and final automatic playoff spot in the Atlantic Division with a five-point lead over the Boston Bruins (80) and they trail the Tampa Bay Lightning (91) by six points.

The Flyers have seen their playoff hopes take a significant hit as they enter play trailing the Bruins by 10 points for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.

These teams have alternated wins in their previous meetings, with Philadelphia picking up a 4-2 victory on Oct. 25 and Detroit responding with a 5-2 triumph on Nov. 26.

The Red Wings are coming in off of a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.

Detroit has been paced by Pavel Datsyuk (23 goals, 33 assists) and Henrik Zetterberg (15 tallies, 41 helpers) as each player leads the Red Wings with 56 points.

The Flyers enter play on the heels of a 1-0 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and will try to avoid their fifth straight setback.

Jakub Voracek has led Philadelphia's attack as he ranks tied for second in the NHL with 47 assists and is in sole possession of fifth in the league with 67 points. Flyers captain Claude Giroux has also had a productive season as he is fifth in the league with 43 helpers and second on the team with 67 points.

Philadelphia turns to Steve Mason between the pipes and he is 13-15-10 with a 2.26 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.

Detroit is set to counter with Jimmy Howard in between the pipes and he is 20-10-9 with a 2.27 GAA and a .917 save percentage.
