Color one former broadcaster unimpressed. NFL coaching legend and longtime commentator John Madden decried Ferrell's actions, according to TMZ. Madden said the he thought the stunt was disrespectful to the game of baseball.

Madden made his comments when he called into a morning radio show shortly before Ferrell took the field with his first team, and he said that he thought the actor was making a mockery of spring training and the sport as a whole.

Madden also said that he thought it was unfair of Ferrell because he was taking opportunities away from actual professional players that are doing everything they can to make it in pro baseball.

"I hate it," Madden said. "That's a lack of respect for the game and for what players have to do to get where they are."

In fairness to Ferrell, suiting up for all of those teams was part of a charity effort to raise money for several different cancer organizations. It is unclear whether or not Madden was aware that Ferrell was doing all of it for a good cause at the time that he made his comments.
