The New York Mets (30-43) and the Chicago White Sox (32-42) will meet in a Wednesday night matchup at U.S. Cellular Field. The first pitch is set for 8:10 p.m. ET and will stream live on MLB.com with a paid subscription.

Shaun Marcum (0-9) is on pace to hold a losing record for the first time in five seasons. He remains winless and will search for his first victory when taking the mound against the White Sox.

"It's been a three-month ordeal for me," said Marcum, signed by the Mets this year after two winning seasons with Milwaukee and three for Toronto.

Marcum was acquired by the Mets this offseason, meaning he has not won a game since joining New York. However, a lack of run support has aided in the pitcher's poor record.

The Mets have given Marcum a 2.43 run support average, amongst the lowest in the majors. However, Marcum has also averaged a 5.76 ERA over the course of the season, including a 9.58 ERA in his last two outings.

Marcum also allowed a season-worst four walks and five runs during his previous start against the Braves. The Mets would lose 5-3.

"He's had some rough starts, but he's also pitched very well at times," manager Terry Collins said.

The White Sox avoided a loss Tuesday after Gordon Beckman dropped a game-tying routine fly ball. Despite the error, the White Sox would capitalize on an Alexei Ramirez RBI single to give them the 5-4 win.

John Danks (1-4) will get the start for the White Sox. Danks has also struggled to find run support as the White Sox have scored just 17 runs in his six starts this season. He currently holds a 5.40 ERA for the season.
