At face value, everything seems to be going just groovy for the Cleveland Cavaliers in recent weeks. They’re 23-5 in their last 28 games and second in the Eastern Conference overall.

However, there is one major problem looming over the team’s future: what to do with Kevin Love?

Lakers Eyeing Kevin Love This Off-Season?

The Cavs broke the bank (including sending no. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins) to get Love from Minnesota in the first place, but his role in the rotation is dwindling with each passing game.

During Thursday night’s exciting overtime win over the Spurs, Love didn’t play a single minute of the fourth quarter and he was a virtual non-entity in the extra period. He finished the game with eight points on 2-10 shooting and just five rebounds.

TWolves Throw Shade At Kevin Love's Return

Love is apparently so out of the loop in terms of crunch-time minutes that he wasn’t even on the bench when head coach David Blatt was ready to re-insert him into the game.

And after the game, Cavaliers teammates LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, Tristian Thompson, and Iman Shumpert posted a video of themselves basking in the victory. The only notable Cav conspiculously missing? You guessed it.

It seems more and more than Kevin Love’s tenure in Cleveland is going to be a one-year detour. Just last year he was widely considered one of the five-to-ten best players in the entire Association. Now he’s not even sniffing meaningful minutes in random March regular season games. How quickly stock changes in this league.
