Today at 1:05 p.m. ET, the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins go head-to-head in spring training action live from Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla.

Petrick, 25, went 7-6 in the Cardinals' AAA affiliate in 2014 with a 4.62 ERA.

Latos, 27, meanwhile, went 5-5 in 16 starts with the Cincinnati Reds in 2014 through 16 starts with a 3.25 ERA and 74 strikeouts.

After spending last season limited by injuries, the Reds dealt Latos to Miami during the 2014 Winter Meetings.

The Marlins were very active during the offseason, bringing in second baseman Dee Gordon, outfielder/first baseman Michael Morse and third baseman Martin Prado and signing slugger Giancarlo Stanton to a huge extension.

The Cardinals also had a busy offseason, most notably acquiring outfielder Jason Heyward from the Atlanta Braves.

St. Louis is coming off of a 2014 campaign that saw it finish with a 90-72 record for the team's second straight NL Central Division title. The Cardinals then fell to the eventual World Series champion San Francisco Giants in the NLCS after taking the NLDS from the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games.

Miami, meanwhile, finished 77-85 and in fourth place in the NL East, missing the playoffs for the 11th straight year and finishing with a sub-.500 record for the fifth consecutive season.

The spring training slate continues when the Cardinals and Marlins go head-to-head this afternoon in Florida.
