Tonight at 9:15 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres continue their spring training slates live from Peoria Sports Complex in Arizona.

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell will be on-hand to play for the Padres in his project where he mans all nine positions on the diamond across several different spring training games throughout the Cactus League on Thursday. Ferrell will use a helicopter to get from stadium to stadium.

Los Angeles sends Hyun-Jin Ryu to the mound while San Diego is set to counter with James Shields.

Ryu, 27, went 14-7 in 2014, his second campaign in the big leagues, with a 3.38 ERA and 139 strikeouts.

Shields, 33, went 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA and 180 strikeouts last season while helping to guide the Kansas City Royals to the American League pennant and a trip to their first World Series in 29 years.

This game can be live streamed for free here.

Shields is one of many offseason imports for the Padres, joining fellow pitcher Brandon Morrow, outfielders Justin Upton, Matt Kemp and Wil Myers, and catcher Derek Norris as new members in San Diego.

The Padres are coming off of a season where they finished 77-85 and in third place in the NL West, marking the eighth straight year without a playoff appearance and San Diego's fourth consecutive losing season.

The Dodgers also made some noise this offseason, bringing in short stop Jimmy Rollins, second baseman Howie Kendrick and catcher Yasmani Grandle as notable additions.

Los Angeles is coming off of a 2014 campaign where it finished 94-68 and won the NL West for the second straight year before falling to the St. Louis Cardinals in four games in the NLCS.

2014 marked L.A.'s best season since it won 95 games in 2009 and it will hope to win its third straight division crown.

Ryu is a key part of a rotation that also includes reigning NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and Zach Greinke.

Two NL West teams go head-to-head in spring training action tonight in Arizona.
