The future of Tiger Woods' PGA Tour campaign is still very much in doubt due to injury, but his exhibition calendar filled up on Thursday.

The former world No. 1 will join Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and a host of British Open legends in the Champion Golfers Challenge this summer. The four-hole team-based exhibition at St. Andrews will be held before the season's third major kicks off on July 16.

Per the reports, Tom Watson and Peter Thomson will also be in attendance. Watson will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of his Open debut, while Thomson will be reminiscing about his win at the 1955 British Open. Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Tony Jacklin, Padraig Harrington, Louis Oosthuizen, John Daly, Stewart Cink, David Duval Paul Lawrie, Mark O'Meara, Justin Leonard, Sandy Lyle and Bob Charles are also scheduled to make an appearance.

According to Chief Executive Peter Dawson, the event will be a celebration of the British Open's rich heritage.

"We are looking forward to a wonderful celebration of the rich heritage of The Open at the Champion Golfers' Challenge in St Andrews," Dawson said (via Golf.com). "As golf fans, we all have cherished memories of watching these great players competing over the years and the excitement of seeing such inspirational competitors winning The Open."

The event will be held on the first and last two holes at St. Andrews. The winning team will receive £50,000 for a charity of their choice.
