Tiger Woods has aspirations of opening his own restaurant in Jupiter, Fla., however, it won't be one with his full name on it.

Tiger Woods Pitied By Golf Channel Analyst David Feherty

According to restaurant developer Nicholas Mastroianni II, The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club, which is scheduled to open later this spring, doesn't don the name "Tiger" because of a claim from Nike. The company reportedly owns the rights to the former world No. 1's name, preventing it from being "The Tiger Woods Jupiter."

Just don't tell that to Mark Steinberg.

Tiger Woods 'Doesn't Need to be Back Where He Was'

Woods' manager released a statement late on Wednesday, contradicting reports of Nike owning his name.

"I can't imagine how this could have been communicated this way," Steinberg said (via Golf Channel). "It is wholly inaccurate and categorically false. Tiger owns his own name and always had. He can use his name in any form he chooses. Nike would confirm that if asked."

Facing similar pressure, Nike was forced to respond to the accusations. A spokeswoman for the company added: "Nike does not own the name 'Tiger Woods.' We can confirm that Mark Steinberg's comments are accurate."

The Woods Jupiter is expected to be Woods' first major and public entrepreneurial investment. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant, unlike his investment in the energy drink start-up Fuse Science, is a business Woods has control of.

Still enjoying a self-imposed hiatus from the PGA Tour, largely due to injury, there is no timetable for Woods' return to the golf course.
