He's no Paulina Gretzky, but Rory McIlroy will turn a few heads when this month's issue of Golf Digest hits the stands.

Tiger Woods Shifts Focus from Golf to Entrepreneurship

The current world No. 1 is depicted as Michelangelo's David under a headline that reads, "Rory: The New Model for Greatness."

Given McIlroy's meteoric rise in 2014, winning the 2014 Open and PGA Championship, no other headline would've been more appropriate. On current form, however, there are other models aspiring golfers should turn to.

Tiger Woods 'Doesn't Need to be Back Where He Was'

The four-time Major champion missed the cut at the 2015 Honda Classic and followed that performance with a tossing of his club into the water at the WGC-Cadillac Championship. He finished the event tied for ninth.

Fortunately for McIlroy, he believes he knows the cure.

"It's just something that I need to stand on the range and beat balls until I feel comfortable with it again," McIlroy said Sunday after shooting an even-par 72 in the final round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship on the Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral (via Sky Sports). "The game's just not quite there. I've got a week off now to try and work on it a little bit."

"I am pretty disappointed with how I played overall," he added. "I felt it was a little better again today [Sunday] for the most part, but a bit of a disappointing finish. But it's just not quite 100 percent."

"My inability to hit the ball right to left isn't something that you want going into Augusta. It is something I want to try and work on a little bit."

McIlroy will play practice rounds at Augusta National next week with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
