Kevin Durant Roc Nation [PHOTO]: OKC Star Signs With Jay-Z

Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar and widely considered the second-best player in the NBA behind LeBron James, has officially signed on with Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports to represent him.

Durant, the 24-year-old forward has been rumored for weeks to be heading to Jay-Z's stable, joining established stars in other sports such as Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees and Victor Cruz of the New York Giants.

Durant made the news official on his Instagram account, posting a photo of himself and the world-famous rapper and business mogul putting ink to paper. The photo was accompanied by a quote from Durant that read, "Grateful for this opportunity with Roc Nation Sports. It's go time."

Jay-Z also had a message upon inking the multiple-time scoring champion. "He has a 90.5 free throw shooting rate, the youngest player in NBA history to join the 50-40-90 club, a giving individual and a legend in the making. What more can I say?"

Although Durant lost out on a fourth straight scoring title this year to New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, Durant did enjoy the finest statistical season of his young career, despite star sixth man James Harden leaving via trade and heaping more responsibility on his shoulders.

Durant averaged 28.1 points per game and posted career highs in assists (4.6) steals (1.4) and blocks (1.3) per game. He also averaged 7.9 rebounds a night, one-tenth of a rebound shy of his career high.

In the postseason Durant upped his scoring to 30.8 points per game, while his rebounding went to 9.0 per game and his assists soared to 6.3.  His Thunder fell to the Memphis Grizzlies in five games, but that can largely be attributed to the loss of point guard Russell Westbrook in the postseason's opening round to a torn meniscus.
