Scottie Pippen Fight Update: Hall of famer Now Felony Assault Suspect

California police are now classifying NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen as a “felony assault suspect” stemming from a fight he had with another man late Sunday outside a Malibu eatery, according to TMZ.

The website reports the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is now looking to speak with Pippen in an assault with a deadly weapon investigation after his 50-something-year-old victim told police he repeatedly kicked him while he was down.

“He beat the f*** out of him,” one police source told TMZ, apparently why police are considering Pippen’s shoes to be a deadly weapon given the number of times the man was allegedly kicked.

Witnesses told police the confrontation began after the man approached Pippen about an autograph and was turned down. Words were then exchanged, before Pippen allegedly knocked the man out cold.

A family member of the alleged victim later told TMZ he was released from the hospital earlier today after being treated for a broken tooth, a swollen mouth and back and head injuries.

Alongside Michael Jordan, Pippen won six NBA titles during the 1990s and was named to the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players Team. Pippen also starred on the 1992 Original Dream Team. Since retiring from the league in 2004, Pippen has returned to work in the Bulls front office.
