Sunday's action between New Zealand and Afghanistan features two nations trending in opposite directions.

The Kiwis have been the best team of the World Cup thus far, winning all four of their matches to race out to a first place ranking in Group A. Afghanistan, meanwhile, has mustered only two points in their debut on the world stage -- an admirable effort, but not enough to get them into the elimination round.

If there's any way Afghanistan is going to stay competitive in this match, it'll be because the Black Caps are too busy shaking off the rust. They haven't played a match since Feb. 28. That's over a week's layoff, which might as well be a month's given how integral hot streaks are to a team's lifeblood.
